The Manteno Education Foundation was created to complement and enhance the educational opportunities of students at Manteno CUSD#5. By attracting private donations, the foundation can provide support for enrichment programs not normally financed through tax dollars. The educational extras can make the difference between a very good and an excellent school system. Incorporated in November of 1999 as a not-for-profit, autonomous, tax-exempt organization, the foundation is directed by a Board of Trustees who are volunteer private citizens.

The foundation strives to draw together resources from area businesses, community groups, and individuals who are interested in enhancing educational programs. There are many ways to contribute. Donations are tax deductible. A one-time check or a pledge paid over time is welcome. Alternative forms of donations include memorials, naming the foundation as a beneficiary, real estate or other real property, and giving gifts in the name of a designee.

The foundation is always grateful for donations of time, knowledge, and talents through needed volunteerism, such as serving on the foundation board or helping with various fundraising events. You can support the endowment fund of you choice by naming the fund in the memo area of your check payable to the Manteno Educational Foundation, 84 N. Oak Street, Manteno, Illinois 60950.

Donations can be "ear-marked" for contributions for specific endowments. The foundation has served as designated disburser of funds received for athletic and music programs and for the enhancement of classroom activities in the form of mini-grants for teachers.

To date, the foundation has raised over $200,000 in payments and pledges for the enhancement of programs at Manteno CUSD#5. Please help us prepare our children for the challenges of the 21st century by joining the list of foundation donors. Thank you in advance for the support of our Manteno Learning Community. Current Endowment Funds Benefiting Manteno CUSD #5

Mini-Grant Fund- Classroom grants that target student learning through innovation and enriching experiences.
Promethean Board Fund- Interactive white boards for classrooms and ancillary tools.
Football Equipment Fund- Helping to maintain and replace football equipment for the safety of the athletes.
Performing Arts Center Fund- Saving so this dream can turn into a reality.
Celebrating Our Educators Fund- Supporting the classrooms of tomorrow through the honor and support of our veteran teachers and educational leaders.
Dictionary Project Fund- This fund goes to help provide every 3rd grade student their own dictionary. They will use this as they progress through school. This project is in partnership with the Rotary Club of Manteno.
