Have you ever
wondered what it would be like to live on a farm? Do you know
what animals live on farms? What does Old MacHebert use horses
for? Where do cheese, eggs, bacon and wool come from?
Task:
1. A delivery man
has a truckload of animals he needs to deliver. One of his stops
is Old MacHebert's Farm. We must decide which animals belong on
the farm.
2. Old MacHebert
has his farm animals now, and needs to know how they will be
useful to him.
Process:
1. Click on the
animal you think is a farm animal. There will be more than one.
If you click on an animal and get a sad face, it is not a farm
animal. When you click on a farm animal you will see a happy face
which means you are right.
2. Click on the
moving animal that you have learned is a farm animal. This will
take you to a web site where you will learn what each farm animal
gives us.
3. *Create your
own shoebox farm using art materials from the classroom. (*FOR
FUN ONLY)

Conclusion:
We will complete
the "What I have learned" section of the KWL chart
together. We will graph our favorite farm animal. As a
celebration we will have a "Farm Feast" Breakfast. We
will cook scrambled eggs and sausage. We will also make homemade
bread and shake cream into butter. Now you will be able to tell
your family and friends where eggs, sausage and butter come from!
